The students at SuMargdarshak had the incredible opportunity to participate in a 5-day internship at Xtrans Matrix, guided by Vikas Sir and mentored by Bharani Sir, along with my teammates Vamshi, Yuga, Jeevan, Raksha Shree, and Santhosh. We were introduced to the fundamentals of branding, identity, and content creation, and gained hands-on experience in video editing using DaVinci Resolve—learning to import media, add effects, transitions, titles, music, and export content professionally. We also explored photo editing techniques like color grading and brightness adjustments. This experience not only enhanced our technical skills but also deepened our understanding of digital media, creativity, and collaboration. I'm sincerely grateful to Krupa Aunty and Sukrupa for empowering us with this opportunity, to Vikas Sir for his guidance, and to Bharani Sir for his patient and insightful training. This internship was a valuable step in my creative and professional journey and gave me a new skill to build on. We all have learnt a lot and had a chance to edit a few videos for our organisation.
The Sumargardarshak students had the privilege to lead The Summer of Rachana 2025, which was held from 2nd to 11th April under the continuous guidance of Krupa Aunty, was a vibrant and enriching experience for students from 5th to 9th grade. Led by 2nd PUC student leaders and supported by experienced camp coordinators, the camp fostered leadership, teamwork, and creativity through a range of activities. Day 1 focused on group formation and identity-building tasks. This was followed by sports days featuring volleyball, throwball, and cricket, promoting fitness and team spirit. Daily creative sessions like chart-making, storytelling, poetry, and poster design encouraged expression and collaboration. Ethnic Day, celebrated as part of a Tamil cultural festival, included traditional attire, a fashion show, and talent showcases. Students also prepared cultural performances in classical and western music and dance for the grand finale. The camp concluded with certificate distribution, leader performances, and a heartfelt feedback session. Overall, it was a joyful journey of learning and growth, leaving every participant with valuable skills and unforgettable memories. It was a new experience for many students and a great learning experience.
As a passed-out student from SUKRUPA and being part of Sumargadarshak program The students had a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the creation of a promotional video showcasing SUKRUPA’s values, strengths, and learning environment to inspire future students. This was all possible under the guidance of Krupa Aunty, This hands-on project involved planning, research, and a two-day video shoot, giving us real-world experience in video production.
Day 1 of the shoot took place at a vegetable shop owned by a SUKRUPA student, where I guided students on dialogue delivery, acting, and basic camera handling. We also filmed at a nearby public park, where we drew the attention of curious onlookers, yet managed to stay focused and capture the needed footage.
Day 2 was shot at Anushka’s house, where I portrayed the role of a mother in the storyline. We applied techniques learned during our training sessions, experimenting with camera angles and framing to enhance storytelling. This project taught us essential skills like planning and executing a shoot, directing, acting, and applying camera techniques. We also learned the importance of teamwork, communication, and trusting one another’s strengths. It was a great way to blend theoretical knowledge with practical execution, helping us build confidence both in front of and behind the camera. We are sincerely thankful to Krupa Aunty for her constant support and encouragement, and to SUKRUPA for providing a creative space where we could explore and grow. This video project was a truly enriching experience, and I look forward to using these skills in future opportunities.
