Pongal - 12 Jan 2023

Pongal/Makara Sankranti was celebrated on January 12, 2023. SUKRUPA celebrated the harvest festival with great enthusiasm. All students from pre-school to 10th grade were dressed in traditional attire, The school was decorated with vibrant rangoli design and authentic food was served. Various cultural programs, including songs, dances and skits were performed by the students, depicting the significance of the festival. Everyone had a joyous day and many photographs were clicked to make the festive occasion memorable.

Trip to Chitradurga 17 Jan 2023

SUKRPA believes in providing culturally and historically enriching experiences to students. Chitradurga was one such creatively curated destination to provide an incredible excursion opportunity for children from low economic backgrounds and cannot afford travel. Early in the morning, the students of 7th and 9th grade, along with their teachers and alumni of SUKRUPA, gathered at the admin office, eager to embark on their journey. Jam buns and bananas were served on the bus as breakfast. Upon arrival, the students were divided into groups and taken on a tour of the city's ancient fortresses and sculptures. Through various sightseeing activities, they gained insight into history, cultural heritage, and physical geography. After a day of exploration, the students gathered around for a delicious meal, recollecting the memories of the day. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience for all.

Teach for India 21 Jan 2023

On January 21st, 2023, the Artha Fellowship had an opportunity of participating in the Teach for India program along with our Founder CEO Ms.Krupalatha. We arrived at the venue with no idea of what the day would bring, only knowing that there would be stalls. As we reached the place, we saw people from various organizations showcasing their work. We presented our work through a video presentation. As a team, we came up with ideas and set up our stall. We were honored to meet Infosys founder, N. R. Narayana, which provided us with a unique learning experience. We also explored the other stalls, gaining an understanding of the different teaching methods. After the program concluded, we all enjoyed a delicious lunch with our Founder CEO and had a conversation on the learnings and lessons for the day. It was an insightful day.

Shravanabelagola 24th Jan 2023

Class 8th and 10th were a part of the trip to shravanabelogola on 24th January. Our founder CEO shared some of her childhood memories with the students. We arrived at Gommateshvara. Students purchased some souvenirs to make the trip memorable. Oranges were given to them to get them hydrated and the steps of the Gomateshva were 782 but all made effort to make to the top and was impressive to see them maintain their energy levels throughout the day. Before we caught the captivating view of Gomateshwara, our founder explained the story and the 24 thirthankara. The view was spectacular. We stopped for lunch  and snacks on the way back to Bangalore. It was a day filled with a lot for fun, learning, and memories.

Republic Day  26th Jan 2023

On January 26th, SUKRUPA celebrated its 74th Republic Day. Our Founder and CEO, Ms Krupalatha, and Co-Founder, Suguna, were the Chief Guests for the day. The celebration began with a march and the hoisting of the flag by our Chief Guests. All the students, teachers, and staff paid their respects and tributes to our country. A patriotic skit was enacted, followed by song, dance, and speech. Our Founder and CEO, Ms Krupalatha on the country’s progress and importance of technology. As the world heads towards machine learning and artificial intelligence, it becomes extremely important for this generation’s students to keep up with advancements. She emphasised the use of smartphones describing it as having the “world in hand”, as long as used wisely. As it can enhance students’ knowledge and help them stay in sync with the latest happenings of the world. At the same time, she mentioned how it is equally important to be aware of cyber crimes and other threats and distractions it can pose. It was an insightful talk. The day concluded with the distribution of sweets to everyone.

Devrayanadurga 31 Jan

On the 31st of January early morning, we all were excited to go to Devarayanadurga to climb the hill and witness a new place. Grade 5th and 6th were a part of the trip. On reaching the destination, we witnessed the serene greenery, blooming flowers, and foggy view of the mountain. We got to click pictures in the luscious environment. We then went to the temple. We worshiped God and as we were seated inside the temple, our founder sang to us. We had our lunch and on the way back, we visited a deer park and saw deer and it was beautiful. 

Buddies Beyond Border  7th Feb 2023

Buddies Beyond Border was an innovative initiative by SUKRUPA to expose students to diverse cultures. It involved a collaboration with Kunskapsskolan school in Sweden. It started off as a virtual program for 3 months where students of two schools connected online to discuss various diversities. The initiative was further extended to an in-person visit where the students, teachers, and coordinators of Kunskapsskolan school visited our school all the way from Sweden on 7th February. During the visit, students of two schools got to interact and exchange information on various topics like sports, music, festivals, and so on. The teams later creatively presented on each others’ cultures. Such initiatives from a young age is significant in broadening horizons and appreciating diversities.

Salesforce Sankallp 03 Feb 2023

On 3rd February 2023, The volunteers from Salesforce visited SUKRUPA, and the fifth and sixth graders were part of the program. The students were divided into five groups, each of which was given 45 minutes to prepare and present on topics such as honesty and bullying. All the groups created an act related to the topic, which the students then enacted. The students had a great time and enjoyed the activity. 

Open Day  9th - 11th Feb

The SUKRUPA Parichaya Open Day Open Mind event took place from February 9th to 11th, 2023. The preparation for this event began in mid-January, and everyone involved was filled with excitement and joy. The team brainstormed ideas, themes, and topics, and formed groups for all the subjects and interests of the students. Our Founder CEO was involved in every step and wherever needed. The theme for the event was sustainability, and the groups were formed around English, Kannada, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Music, Suyog, Sports, Yoga, and Arts & Crafts. All the topics were sustainability-related, and the preparation and rehearsals were going on with their respective groups. The Art and Craft team was subdivided into smaller groups, and they helped the teams in making props, painting, and creating a backdrop. The ARTHA fellows were given leadership roles for the primary school to help them practise for the Open Day. The Open Day passes and posters were designed by Artha Media and the productions team.

Every day we had chief guests from different companies invited. The first day of the event was inaugurated by the IFS Officer, Rajkumar, who was accompanied by our Founder and CAO. We also had the team of ALD over. The ribbon-cutting and lamp-lighting ceremony marked the beginning of a day filled with excitement and learning. The second day, we were honoured to welcome Preethika and Dr Geetha. The final day, we welcomed the CSR team of Society Generale. All the guests were incredibly delighted to see the thoughts and efforts put in by the students and further shared their wisdom and experiences with them. 

The open day was divided into three sections, namely preschool, primary, and high school. The preschool students put up a delightful performance on our world and neighbourhood. The children were dressed in their best attire and presented themselves beautifully in front of the audience. It was heartwarming to see such young kids perform so well. The primary students showcased their talents on various topics such as the environment, pollution, math in everyday life, saving trees, and our nation. The high school students enacted dramas on climate change, saving trees and forests, and sustainable development. The science team presented topics such as the theory of relativity, mimicking nature, nanoscience, Li-Fi, types of pollution, pollution control, climate change, wastewater management, earthquake detection, and rainwater harvesting. They also displayed working models to explain these concepts. The math groups presented topics such as math in fitness, nature, astronomy, technology, agriculture, and a song. The sports team had a performance in the pyramid and information was given on different sports played. The yoga group had put up different forms of yoga asanas. Some of the games were arranged to play for the parents and guests visiting. All the groups put up an amazing show, and the energy was great throughout the day. The parents and guests thoroughly enjoyed the presentations, and the event was a huge success for SUKRUPA.

The event was a huge success, and everyone involved was proud of their hard work and dedication. In conclusion, the Parichaya Open Day Open Mind event was a great platform for students to showcase their talents and learn new things. The event was well-organized, and the performances were impressive. It was a day filled with excitement, learning, and fun

10th Grade farewell 12th Feb 2023

On 12th February, Sukrupa had the 10th grade Farewell party which was organised by the 9th graders. And they also performed a song, dance, and skit for their seniors. Further, each student from the 10th grade was given an opportunity to share about their journey in SUKRUPA which was an emotional moment. Their parents too got an opportunity to share a few words and thank our founder for giving their children a promising future. All the teachers wished them the best of luck for their exams and everyone clicked group photographs to create memories. The 10th grade students were given greeting cards made by 9th graders. It was a bittersweet day.
