Founder, Executive Director Speak: We closed the school year 2021-22 with the Summer Camp - Big Dreams Big Goals 2022 where we saw extraordinary budding leadership with 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.
The new school year 2022-23 after the Pandemic, was exciting as we had a new set of teachers along with our old teachers. However the whole process has not been as easy and smooth with the school supply delay, nevertheless, it is a joy to see the kids coming back to school. As we did not have new admissions during the two years of the pandemic we had more applications for new admissions than we could handle and with great difficulty, we shortlisted 124 students. Our classrooms are tiny, our premises are smaller, however, the programs we conduct are big and impactful; creativity and experiential learning. Hope someday soon we will have a spacious campus for children to learn, play and do activities.
We reach out to you to share your talent, time, donation, and knowledge with our children. Visit our website to know more www.sukrupa.org. If you are in Bangalore please contact us to meet our children at our school in R.T.Nagar. With our limited infrastructure and limited resources, we support our school children to finish their 10th Board exam and support them with college education. Sometimes we borrow money to support our First generation SuMargadarshak Scholars who are awarded scholarships to continue college studies in some of the best colleges in the city. Completing a college degree with mentorship is a stepping stone towards their dream career.
SuMargadarshak Shakthi is a student-led initiative launched for the SuMargadarshak Students to provide a platform and create opportunities for them to understand the importance of responsibilities and commitments. A committee was formed where students were given different roles and responsibilities - President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. This program will focus on developing leadership skills among the students to become future leaders which will impact SuMargdarshak, their lives and the society.
Big Dreams Big Goals Summer Camp 2022 was a fun-filled camp with lots of activities; dance, music, theatre, art and craft, around the world, values, quiz, tree of dreams and goals. After two long years of pandemic, this was indeed a special camp for all our children. This summer camp was conducted by SuMargadarshak UG students, the 11th and 10th graders. The students of 8th and 9th grade were given the opportunity to be Budding leaders, where they took leadership and responsibility to manage their teams. All the children from 1st to 10th Grade were divided into mixed groups.
It was amazing to witness how our children had great enthusiasm and energy every single day learning and developing their skills. We had a great event on the final day of the camp. Students were dressed in ethnic attires, ready to perform and showcase their learnings throughout the camp. Students wrote down the dreams and goals that they want to achieve and pinned it on the tree of dreams, goals and values. 1st to 6th graders performed a dance, a play and a presentation on importance of values in life. 7th to 9th graders performed a dance, a play, conducted a quiz session and presented about around the world through creative arts. We ensured that no child was left behind, everyone was involved in some or the other activity and performance. The high school students were divided into groups to do a creative presentation about the continents around the world. The students took everyone on a tour to the famous monuments and wonders of the world, the different cultures, traditions and customs, languages, geography and much more. This inspired children to travel around the children and explore the possibilities of achieving their dreams and goals.
Ethnic Day was a part of the summer camp on the 14th of April 2022. All the students were beautifully dressed in their ethnic attires. Ramp walk, dance, and singing were some of the activities conducted. Few students represented in different traditional state attires. There was an intra-class dance competition for all the students; One of the best days in school life!
SUKRUPA celebrated Ambedkar Jayanthi. The program began with lighting of the lamp and the invocation song. Through this celebration the children learnt a lot about the struggles of the Dalits and how Dr. Ambedkar rose up through education and became the architect of the Indian Constitution, and stood for the liberation of Dalits in India bringing reservations to uplift.
Music is Magic, it can inspire, motivate, and help us find ourselves. Students from 8th to 10th grade were part of the International Music Day at the Bangalore School of Music. Students got an opportunity to learn different instruments like drums, guitar, flute, and body percussions, to create beautiful music.
SuMargadarshak is a Scholarship, mentoring, skills, and career development program to support the transition from school to college to a dream career. A supportive environment where first-generation college students can understand and express themselves, and be guided towards better shores. The importance and the benefits of the SuMargadarshak Scholarship were defined to all the students and their parents. The launch of the SuMargadarshak Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) was presented and discussed during the program. The students were instructed to follow the rules and regulations set for the scholarship criteria. The scholarship was awarded to all the students from 1st PUC to all the Undergraduates. SuMargadarshak supports the students to focus and improve their academic performance by providing professional guidance 3 days a week. Twice a week the students are trained to face reality-based situations through leadership training, life skill development, communication skills, team building, and games are conducted for all the students.
"You Sacrificed so I could rise" The bond we have with our Mother’s is everlasting. Many of our children’s mother’s are the breadwinners of their families, they provide, care and heal. SUKRUPA SuMargadarshak celebrated Mother’s Day to recognise the important roles that every mother plays in the lives of our children. The students performed the ritual of washing their mothers feet and decorating their nails. We had lots of fun activities and games specially designed for all the mothers. It was an emotional and heart touching moment to listen to stories of the bonds between our children and their mothers.
All the mothers were surprised with a lot of gifts from candies, cards to special cosmetics. A delicious dinner was arranged for all the mothers and the children. A theatre performance was performed by the undergraduates portraying how child marriages affect every girl and her family. We also had a fantastic dance performance by the undergraduate girls. We want to say thank you to all the mothers who sacrifice, work so relentlessly, provide for their families, for the warmth and affection they give and above all ensure our happiness. Happy Mother’s Day

Nature Adventure Camp Fifty students from 11th and 12th Grade were part of a nature adventure camp at Kanakapura. The camp helped the students to learn life skills through adventure. Students were excited to play thrilling zip lining, rain dance, mud and water games. Team building, creative thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving were some of the learnings that the students took back. Students developed abilities to stay focused and be positive always. To a fun filled day!
Back to school after the pandemic, it was a moment to celebrate coming together, meeting friends, teachers, the classroom experience, being able to play together and sharing new experiences. Students spent time cleaning, organising and decorating their classrooms. Everyone had lots of fun playing games, doing crafts and spending time with friends and teachers.
International Yoga Day was celebrated on the 21st of June 2022. Our yoga instructors Ms.Swetha and Mr.Sundaramoorthy taught different forms of yoga asanas to all the students.
