Chandana is a student of 10th Grade. She started her schooling at SUKRUPA from Kindergarten in 2005. She is a single parented child. Her mother Sarah is a domestic help. She has a younger sister who is studying in 6th Grade at SUKRUPA. She is one of the most active and enthusiastic students in her class. Here is how Chandana is doing at school...
“School is the most fun place to be. I learn theatre, dance, music, life skills and how I as a girl can be more independent and live with good values. My friends make a lot of jokes, every day is so much fun with them. There are lots of volunteers from different countries who come to the school, interacting with them teaches me a lot of things. I want to become a musician when I grow up.
Last few months at school has been very exciting. I have had so much fun. We had the Student Council Elections at school. I contested for the 'Head Girl' post. It was a good experiene submitting the nomination and doing the canvasing. On Independence day I was part of the school band. We marched through the streets near my school.
Parichaya is the best thing about school. I enjoyed it so much. It is a day when we showcase all that we have learnt in creative ways. I was part of the Art group where we did an art exibition to share all the work that we had done in the last few months. There were volunteers, parents and people from around the school who came to see our stall.
We celebrated teachers day at school. I love my teachers, they make me happy everyday. On the day when we celebrated teachers day, my class made greeting cards and we gave it to our teachers.
I'm so excited about how my next few months in school is going to be becuase this is my last year at school. I want to enjoy all that I can. SUKRUPA is a home to me, coming to school makes me soooo happy. Many girls do not get the opportunities that I get.
Music makes me happy. I listen to Justin Beiber, Selena Gomez, Charlie Puth and many more. My mother is my best friend and I love her so much.
Thank you all for helping me to enjoy school everyday".
