What better way to spend the summer
The SUKRUPA summer camp 2019 was filled with fun learning with an objective for children to get stimulated and develop interests. The camp was conducted by the SUKRUPA SuMargadarshak students who were a team of five members. The camp was a week long program filled with sports, group discussion, indoor games and movie screening.
“This camp was fun, informative and we really enjoyed a lot. We had many sessions about life skills, where I learnt about problem solving and how important it is to look around our surrounding and figure out solutions for the different social issues”. – Reeta from 7th Grade
“I had a great time getting to watch educational films. I learnt so much from, it was different because I got a visual experience of what I was learning. Every day there was something new and I learnt a lot from it”. – Sindhu from 9th Grade
First generation learners stepping into college
We are excited to share that our class students passed out with flying colors. Most of the students are first generation learners and we are immensely proud to share that all of them have got admissions in prestigious institutions like Christ Junior College, Mount Carmel’s, St. Anne’s c and Sheshadripuram College. Through the support and guidance of SUKRUPA, the children are pursuing their studies in different courses.
“On the first day of college, everything was new for me. It was different from school, there were so many students from different places. At first I was nervous but later I started speaking to everyone. It’s going to be a new experience and I want use every little opportunity I get” – Anushree I Mount Carmel College
“It’s almost a week in college now. I have made many new friends and the teachers are so sweet. My favorite subject is Psychology, it is very interesting and new for me” – Anna Marie I Mount Carmel PU College
Getting our teachers ready for the academic year 2019
Ahead of the school reopening, we had the teacher’s induction program to enhance their abilities and skills to create a hands on learning experience for the children. Twenty teachers were part of the induction which was a week long program conducted by our Executive Director Ms. Krupalatha Martin Dass, Director Mr. Sathiaseelan and Director Operations Mr. Murugan. The focus was on lesson planning, activity based learning and understanding the policies of SUKRUPA Education Centre and child protection.
Back to school after summer vacations
The children were back to school on the 27th of May 2019, all excited for a whole new year filled with learning and fun. The first week of school, we conducted bridge courses for all the children where the basic knowledge of each subject was taught to them. Through this we were able to understand each child’s level of knowledge and this helped them to better themselves in each subject.
We are so inspired by the generosity of our donors and volunteers and the dedication of our management and teachers. Your contributions help create better futures
