By Achal Sharma | Student of SUKRUPA - 9th Grade
“My name is Achal Sharma. I’m studying in 9th grade at SUKRUPA. I love doing art a lot and at SUKRUPA I enjoy being a part of the after school program where I get to learn a lot of things. In the month of December I went to the biggest Art Mela ‘Chitra Santhe’ in Bangalore. It was so beautiful and it was a memorable experience. There were so many different kinds of art which were so colorful and of different themes. I couldn’t stop looking at them again and again.
In my school they conduct lots of events. In the last two months I have had so much fun being a part of celebrations, creativity and fun activities. On January 14th we celebrated Pongal which is a harvest festival of Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka. At school we sang songs and performed a skit. All the classes took active participation. I enjoyed the skit because it was very funny and I was part of it and I loved it.
On the 25th of January we had visitors from Indigo. I enjoyed taking them around to introduce them to all the classes and had a good time getting to know them better. I was so excited to be a part of the ‘Colorothon’ event in Jayanagar Bangalore on the 26ht of January where we all drew our imagination. There were many guests who were a part of it and people from all ages were also there. I was happy sitting in an open space and drawing.
The most awaited event of the year was ‘Open Day’. It took place from the 31st of January to 2nd of February. We displayed our knowledge and creativity that we had learnt throughout the year to parents and visitors. It was so much fun helping the teachers, working in a group and putting things together for Open Day. I was part of the Art Group where I loved selling my paintings and raising funds for my school.
I’m also a part of the Bangalore School of Music Children's Choir where I get to learn western music. I was part of the concert at Allaince Francais where we performed a Swedish song. I loved performing on the stage and I thank my teacher Ms. Deborah ma’am and Sten Sir for teaching us the song so well. Have a look at one of my recent art work.
Thank you all for your love and support".
