Akanksha is a young woman from India who has benefited from a Wedu scholarship thanks to your help. This is her story:
“I am Akanksha from Nepal and recently, I have just finished my Masters in Business Administration from Said Business School, University of Oxford. I have also been awarded the prestigious Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) visa by Tech Nation to continue working in the United Kingdom.
I aspire to create much greater social and environmental impact with my work within the Tech for Good sector, especially with a focus on EdTech, Gender Lens Investing, and Impact Investments in emerging economies. I see myself as an instrument in creating more meaningful impacts in this world. I was always driven by a sense of giving back to the community; headstrong and standing for what was right. FISA has empowered me to keep achieving my goals and make a positive impact.
I am a Wedu Rising Star and I have been blessed with amazing mentors with whom I still keep in touch. I decided to apply for FISA to seek help to pay for my visa and secure my future, as well as of those whom I will continue to support with my work in the impact sector.”
We want to send our deepest gratitude to you for supporting this effect and helping us by donating to the Sujata Baskota Honor Scholarship. Your contribution directly supports women like Akanksha by allowing them to focus on their studies and follow their dreams to create positive social change. Thanks to you we have been able to raise a total of $6,283 in online donations to contribute towards scholarships, an amount that can provide financial support to more Rising Stars this year than ever before. Thank you again so much for your donation and we look forward to sending more exciting Rising Star updates and achievements in coming months.
Thank you for helping our Rising Stars keep rising!
With gratitude,
The Wedu Team
