Karma is a young woman who has benefited from Wedu funding thanks to your help. This is her story:
“I was born in Thimphu, the capital city of a small country called Bhutan. I studied in Bhutan until year 12 which I completed in 2015 living with my parents. Then In 2016, I started a big venture in my life, which was going to Australia with a big aspiration to become a doctor so that someday I can help all the people regardless of where they come from and what their ethnicity is.
I started off with the diploma in nursing from an institute called Institute of Health and Nursing Australia in Sydney which was for 2 years. Then in February 2019, I continued with a Bachelor of Nursing degree in a university called the University of Technology Sydney from where I intend to graduate in December 2020.
As a Rising Star, I hope I can learn a lot of new things from the global mentorship program and help the people who are in need with my nursing knowledge, alongside the guidance from my mentor. I believe I can become a doctor one day with the support I have from people around me as well as Wedu.
Wedu’s funding will mainly help me pay off my tuition fees and cover my living expenses throughout the year until I graduate. Without Wedu, I would not be able to pursue my dreams and my career like today.”
We want to send our deepest gratitude to you for supporting this effect and helping us by donating to the Sujata Baskota Honor Scholarship. Your contribution directly supports women like Pooja by allowing them to focus on their studies and follow their dreams to create positive social change. Thanks to you we have been able to raise a total of $5,500 in online donations to contribute towards funding for higher education, an amount that can provide financial support to more Rising Stars this year than ever before. Thank you again so much for your donation and we look forward to sending more exciting Rising Star updates and achievements in the coming months.
Thank you for helping our Rising Stars keep rising!
