https://suhurusara.lk/ The e-Learning arm of FOUNDATION.LK, is dedicated to empower Sri Lankans with ICT skills and digital literacy. The platform offers a range of interactive online courses in local languages, focusing on areas like web design, programming, and multimedia. SuhuruSara aims to bridge the digital divide by providing accessible, high-quality training programs that cater to students, youth, and professionals ensuring that both urban and rural communities have equal opportunities.
Sri Lanka faces a significant digital skills gap, leaving many youth and underserved communities without equal access to quality ICT education. Cost, location, language barriers and limited access to current, job-relevant training restrict opportunities to learn. Much of the latest technology content is also primarily available in English, widening the divide and limiting pathways to education, employment, entrepreneurship and participation in the digital economy.
SuhuruSara provides free and affordable, practical ICT learning through a flexible Moodle LMS, with courses in Sinhala and Tamil. Learners build skills in AI, programming, web development, databases, graphic design and digital content creation through instructionally designed videos, interactive activities, assessments, additional learning resources and practical tasks. Self-paced online learning and community-based delivery expand access to current, job-relevant digital skills across Sri Lanka.
SuhuruSara aims to create more equitable access to digital education across Sri Lanka. By expanding practical ICT learning in local languages, the project will help learners build skills for employment, further education, entrepreneurship and freelancing. Over time, a digitally skilled population can reduce language and access barriers, strengthen digital inclusion, improve economic opportunities and empower communities to contribute to Sri Lanka's digital future.
