Project Report | Apr 30, 2026
Continuing Community Engagement and Resource Mob

By Josephine Nshemire | Project Leader

Greetings to all our donors, supporters, and friends on GlobalGiving.

We would like to share a brief update regarding the Sugar Daddy Awareness for Young School Girls project in rural Western Uganda. During this reporting period, no major field implementation activities were carried out due to limited financial resources. However, the organization continued engaging local stakeholders and community members as part of ongoing groundwork and preparation for future implementation of the project.

We held informal discussions with parents and teachers in the community regarding the growing vulnerability of school-going girls to exploitation, transactional relationships, and school dropout linked to poverty and lack of economic support. These conversations continue to highlight the urgent need for awareness creation, mentorship, and protective community interventions for vulnerable adolescent girls.

The organization also continues to mobilize resources and exploring possible partnerships that can support the implementation of planned awareness sessions, school engagements, and community sensitization activities. While progress has been slower than anticipated, we remain committed to ensuring that the project eventually reaches the young girls who need this support most.

The challenges facing vulnerable school girls in rural communities remain significant, particularly during school holidays when many young people are exposed to economic pressures, exploitation, and limited supervision. We believe sustained community awareness and empowerment efforts are still critically needed to help girls remain safe, stay in school, and make informed life decisions. We remain hopeful that with continued support and partnerships, the project will move into active implementation in the coming periods.

Thank you for believing in the protection, wellbeing, and future of vulnerable girls in Uganda.
