By Josephine Nshemire | Project Leader
New Year Greetings to all our donors, friends and well-wishers. I hope you had an eventful festive season and are looking forward to the best of 2026.
I would like to report that there were no major field activities or community engagements conducted within the last quarter due to continued funding constraints. During this period, our efforts focused on sustaining the project concept by refining the intervention approach and actively submitting proposals to potential donors and partners to mobilize resources for full implementation.
Despite the funding challenges, the project remains highly relevant and urgently needed. The economic impacts of COVID-19 continue to expose adolescent girls and young women to transactional and exploitative relationships, particularly in vulnerable communities where poverty, school dropouts, and limited livelihood options persist.
We remain hopeful and committed to launching the project once funding is secured, as the risks it seeks to address; sexual exploitation, early pregnancy, school dropout, and HIV/STIs - remain prevalent. We believe that with adequate support, this project will play a critical role in protecting girls, restoring dignity, and promoting informed decision-making among adolescent girls in the post-COVID-19 context. We can only hope for the very best in 2026.
Happy New Year 2026.
