This project provides urgent life-saving assistance to families affected by the sudden Euphrates River flood in Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, Syria. It will support 1455 vulnerable families, around 12,600 people, with emergency food, safe water, shelter kits, hygiene items, cash assistance, bread, and mobile health services to prevent deaths, disease outbreaks, displacement harm, and loss of dignity.
Sudden rising water levels in the Euphrates River have placed families in Raqqa at serious risk of flooding, displacement, contaminated water, disease, and loss of basic household items. At least 318 vulnerable families, including children, women, older persons, and people with specific needs, require urgent food, hygiene, dignity, water, and shelter-related assistance to stay safe and protected.
The project will provide urgent assistance to 1450 flood-affected families through food baskets, hygiene kits, dignity kits, safe drinking water, bread, and emergency cash support. These items will help families meet immediate needs, reduce exposure to disease, protect women and girls' dignity, and support households who lost access to basic supplies due to the Euphrates River flood.
This project will help affected families remain safe and stable during the flood emergency and reduce the risk of disease, deeper displacement, and harmful coping mechanisms. By meeting urgent needs quickly, the project will protect vulnerable households and support their recovery until water levels decrease and families can safely return or rebuild their lives.
