Stepping Up To Bridge The Gap

By Judith Opieba | Project Leader

We are very grateful for our global family's support as we continue to navigate the changes brought about by the Coronavirus.  Thank you for standing with us whatever the situation.  The last seven months have been really challenging but we are courageously forging ahead.

Your financial support has enabled our teachers to continue to support our less fortunate learners with their studies so they don't fall behind in their academics.   Those students that are unable to learn online continue to be taught by teachers who stepped up to bridge the gap by providing masks, facilitating lessons, and offering snacks.  The government provides online learning for those who can afford computers and have access to the internet. We are doing our best to support the rest.

The funds we received from you were also helpful in the renovation of the staff room which is now complete and beautiful. Teachers are very grateful and are taking the initiative to guide and counsel the learners who have been infected or are affected by the Coronavirus. The rabbit and poultry income-generating projects are ready to move forward once the school reopens.

The Five Strategies of The Virtues Project are really working.  Despite our country experiencing a high number of teen pregnancies, we are an exception!  Our learners are all back and in one piece.  We thank God and its due to Virtues! Our students really practiced the virtue of assertiveness. Virtues have made us stand tall.  We thank God.

We want to thank each and every one of you for your kindness and unconditional love.  Thank you very much for ensuring we have enough water in our school at this critical time when water is so vital to our health and well-being.  May the good Lord bless you all abundantly.  We at Mwiyenga School will always be grateful to you, our global family, for your generosity, compassion, empathy, and kindness.
