With your donations, and along with other resources from international organizations, we have been able to provide Self-learning guides from Escuela Nueva to at least fifteen rural schools in Cundinamarca and Santander. Reaching out to these rural schools during these pandemic times has required a logistical effort to get the permits from different government institutions in Colombia, in order to be authorized to mobilize and transport these materials. However, the deliveries of these self-learning guides started two weeks ago on July 27 and have been completed successfully. The education material has been initially distributed to teachers, but hopefully will reach the homes of children within the next month.
Specifically, with the amount of donations made here through our GlobalGiving campaign, we have been able to provide three sets of self-learning guides to San Bernardo, a rural municipality with schools located four hours away from the capital. These sets of self-learning elementary guides will benefit approximately 150 children who live in remote areas and with limited access to other educational content. We invite you to keep making donations, even small amounts can have a great impact on the education of a child living in a distant rural area.
