Thank you all for your end of the year support! December was a extremely successful fundraising month for These Numbers Have Faces (TNHF), which allows me to share this exciting news. Because of the support of people like you, TNHF is expanding its college scholarship and community impact program to Rwanda! We have established the Rwanda Education Initiative (REI), which will provide the opportunity for four young women to participate in the Esther Home holistic scholarship program in Kigali, Rwanda. Participants in the program are given a four-year college scholarship, college housing, food, transportation, financial literacy training, health care, books and supplies.
Below is a link to a blog written by These Numbers Have Faces Executive Director reflecting on his time in Rwanda.
Our Student Survival Kit campaign has become a type of contingency fund and has served to bless our students in ways we had not anticipated. Aside from providing money for things such as personal supplies, photocopies for class, transportation to and from the university and English tutoring, the funds are also being used to provide housing and food for two young women in the program. Both of these women were in very dangerous living situations in the townships that affected their ability to study and prepare for class. Our South Africa staff worked hard to secure safe home-stay situations that are religiously and culturally appropriate for each young woman.
Thank you again for your continued support,
Sarah Levy
