To celebrate the end of the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season, Love City Strong hosted a community appreciation day in Cruz Bay. On November 18th, participants enjoyed food from local vendors, activities for all ages, and music from various St. John artists.
Hurricane season is a stressful time for everyone, even if there are no storms on the horizon. At Love City Strong we try our best to be physically prepared, and to make sure that we support those that need additional assistance to be safe in their homes in case of impact. We also think it is critical that island residents are trained in response skills, and feel prepared to take an active role in the recovery process. We hoped that this event would allow us to to breath a collective sigh of relief as we move in to the holiday season.
The core of everything we do is community participation and reslience. Coming together to share experiences helps us learn about the ways we have been successful as an orgranization, and challenges us to develop goals for future programming. This event was a great way to connect with friends and community partners, and we hope to make it a yearly tradition!
Thank you so much for your support throughout 2023, and we wish you a happy and healthy holiday season!
