In Kamulu and Kangai-Kirinyaga, stigma and substance abuse tear families apart. Protect Girl Image Organization is breaking this cycle. We are training 1,000 youth advocates and launching Mental Health Hubs to provide counseling and peer support. Your gift helps us reach 10,000 young women, empowering them to reclaim their well-being and secure business funding by 2030. Join us to uplift these girls' potential and build more resilient families across these communities.
In Kamulu and rural Kangai-Kirinyaga, untreated mental illness and substance abuse are fracturing families. Girls are disproportionately affected but face a massive treatment gap. Struggles are often "spiritualized"-dismissed as supernatural curses rather than medical conditions. This stigma prevents girls from seeking help, leading to school dropouts, chronic poverty, and dangerous dependency. Without affordable care, thousands remain unsupported and unable to reach their potential.
We bridge the gap by bringing professional, culturally respectful care to the community. We are establishing Mental Health Hubs-safe spaces for professional counseling and peer support. We will train 1,000 Youth Advocates in Psychological First Aid to act as first responders. Through community "Barazas" in local dialects, we provide meals and education to dismantle stigma. By combining therapy with business mentorship, we move girls from survival to economic independence.
By 2030, we aim to empower 10,000 young women who are mentally resilient and business ready. By training local advocates and involving guardians, we are rebuilding the family unit in Kamulu and Kirinyaga. As these women secure business funding and drive the local economy, they prove that mental wellness is the foundation of prosperity. This creates a sustainable, community-led support network that ends the cycle of stigma and poverty for future generations.
