This project enhances women's meaningful participation in peace processes and dialogue platforms in North Kivu by building leadership skills, supporting grassroots organizations, promoting inclusive decision making, and engaging stakeholders. It aims to amplify women's voices, strengthen community resilience, and contribute to sustainable peace and conflict resolution in the region efforts.
Women in North Kivu face limited and unequal participation in peace processes despite being deeply affected by conflict. Barriers such as weak leadership opportunities, scarce resources, and restrictive social norms exclude them. This project addresses the gap by strengthening women's capacity, voice, and influence in peacebuilding and inclusive conflict resolution efforts.
The project will address this problem by providing leadership training, supporting grassroots women's organizations, and facilitating their active participation in peace dialogues. It will engage key stakeholders to promote inclusive decision-making, strengthen networks, and create safe spaces where women can influence peace processes and contribute to sustainable conflict resolution in North Kivu.
In the long term, the project will foster inclusive peacebuilding by empowering women as influential leaders and decision-makers. Stronger grassroots networks and sustained participation will enhance community resilience, improve conflict resolution outcomes, and promote gender equality, leading to more durable, representative, and sustainable peace in North Kivu and beyond.
