Women in North Kivu continue to live with the consequences of prolonged conflict, yet their voices remain too often absent from the peace processes and community decisions that shape their future. Our project, “Strengthening Women’s Participation in Peace,” was created to help change this reality by strengthening women's leadership skills, supporting grassroots women's organizations, and creating opportunities for women to participate meaningfully in peace dialogues and inclusive decision-making. At this stage, the project is in its preparation and resource-mobilization phase. Our team is currently identifying qualified trainers and potential learners who will participate in the planned activities. We are committed to ensuring that implementation begins on a strong and responsible foundation.
The total project budget is USD 29,200, and we have currently raised USD 0. While we have not yet secured the resources needed for full implementation, we remain determined to move forward. Our collaboration with GlobalGiving is giving this locally led initiative an opportunity to reach a wider international community of supporters, and we believe this partnership can help us move closer to our fundraising goal. Every contribution will help create opportunities for women to strengthen their leadership, participate in peacebuilding, connect with other women leaders, and contribute to more inclusive conflict resolution in their communities.
We sincerely thank GlobalGiving and every person who believes in this project and in the potential of women to build peace. We now invite donors, partners, and friends around the world to stand with women in North Kivu. Your support can help transform preparation into action and give women the skills, confidence, and space they need to influence peace processes. Together, we can help women move from being primarily affected by conflict to becoming recognized leaders in building peace.
