Rural and Indigenous families in Peru face food insecurity due to poverty, geographic isolation, and limited access to nutritious food. Through the AGAPE HAND Food Bank, this project will recover and distribute nutritious food, strengthen community partnerships, and improve food security for vulnerable families. Together, we can reduce hunger, promote dignity, and build healthier, more resilient communities.
Many rural and Indigenous families in Peru face food insecurity due to poverty, geographic isolation, and limited access to nutritious food. Many households struggle to obtain enough healthy food throughout the year, increasing the risk of malnutrition and poor health. Without reliable food assistance, vulnerable families face greater barriers to well-being, education, and long-term economic stability.
Through the AGAPE HAND Food Bank, this project will recover, organize, and distribute nutritious food to vulnerable rural and Indigenous families. Working with community partners, volunteers, and food donors, it will strengthen food access, reduce food insecurity, and provide reliable assistance that helps families meet their nutritional needs throughout the year.
Improved food security will help families build healthier and more resilient lives. Better access to nutritious food can reduce the risk of malnutrition, strengthen community well-being, and improve opportunities for children and adults to learn, work, and thrive. The project will also strengthen local partnerships that support long-term food assistance across rural Peru.
