Children from Poland need direct psychological support. Poland is a second country in Europe with the highest number of suicides among young people! The loneliness of children is a problem that is much talked about but little done. Anxiety, depression, isolation, is the everyday life of lonely children. Every fifth child in Poland feels lonely and is left alone. There is a lack of "here and now" access to specialists, professional people who can help children in a crisis situation.
Long-term (unnoticed) loneliness leads to depression, nightmares, anxiety, headache, insomnia, aggression. In our region, we can see many children who do not have the support of adults. Public psychological help is difficult to access, and private is often too expensive for the average parent.
We create a network of streetworkers working with children and teenagers in their natural environment - in the backyard, park or square. We will finance specialized training for street educators and we will pay for their regular presence among young people.
Our long-term goal is to create a network of street workers who will work with street children in the 3 main cities of our region. We want specialized educators to be available to children in the places where they live, play and meet.
