One day we recieved a phone call.
”Hello, this is civic activity center. The other day we rescued three dogs left in a garbage-fillied house. We could find their foster parents for the two dogs, but still we can not find the new home for the last one. So I am calling you to ask whether it is possible to become the dog's new family. This dog is Miniature Schnauzer, and a boy. "
JATA "Ok I got it.. But garbage-fillied house? Were the three dogs abandoned by someone?"
"No. We can not say exactry because of the personal privacy, but the owner of the dogs passed away, and the owner was living in the garbage-fillied house. "
JATA "so...the owner had lived with the dogs, one day he passed away, and only dogs were left in the house, right?"
"Yes."
JATA "How long had they lived without owner? How did they live? "
"Maybe 2weeks or more. Aftr rescue, all dogs went to animal hospital soon, Maybe there were only few food, so they are too grant. But there is no serious trouble for their health."
It was the very first time to get such call since JATA started 10 years before.
Honestly we were not sure weather the dog can become a therapy dog or not, because at that time we could not know how much the mental of him is hurted. We can not imagine how much lonely they had felt for the days without their owner. However, we decided to be a family of the dog.
Next day we called to "Sasaki Animal Hospital" in Hino-city, Tokyo, where the dog was living tenporarily, and told that we would like to be their new parents.
The doctor taught us that; this dog estimates 5~6 years old. He is grant, but so healthy. For a few days after rescue, he was scared to all staffs in this hospital, but gradually he became so friendly. He is so sweet dog.
A few days later we went to this hospital to recieve him. Thanks for the doctors and staffs, actually he was so friendly. he was so grant, but always smile and so lovely.
Nobody knows his original name, so we named him a new one, "Peace", hopig that his life becomes "Peace" in our association.
