Dear donor and friend, we are so grateful to be able not only to take care of our shelter dogs, but also attend some urgent cases, thanks to your support and solidarity. We received an emergency notification from a citizen of Bogotá, who had rescued a female Golden Retriever from being abused. He could not keep her any longer, because he took her from his neighbours, cruel and violent people, who already suspected him. In order not to be seen, he brought the dog in through the window, which was almost a cinematic action. We agreed to receive her, she arrived on a motorbike and found a foster home the same day. She was very skinny, malnourished and anxious. The medical examination revealed anemia, fever and a severe uterine infection. Menta is a young dog of 4 years and was used for illegal breeding, and it was so devastating to find out, that she probably just had puppies one week before her rescue. Nobody could tell us, what happened to them, and sadly, there is no imaginable positive scenario. So let´s focus on Menta, an amazing being, so resilient and ready to trust again. She came to a real paradise and was welcomed by her foster mom and six friendly dogs. She just couldn´t believe it and a profound exhaustion helped her to fall asleep and decompress. After settling in, she now enjoys long walks and even found her first toy, a green rubber ball. As soon as she recovers, she’ll be neutered and will hopefully find her perfect human match.
