OWAP's pioneering Stray Animals Rescue & Shelter Mission - war-torn Yemen's very first- is currently saving street animals from certain death by poisoning campaigns, disease and extreme neglect on Sana'a 's dangerous streets! OWAP is running a Public Health CVNR anti-Rabies Campaign and needs your help to set up a safehouse Shelter for hundreds of dogs, cats, donkeys, camels, foxes and rescued wildlife
Strays are being cruelly poisoned to death by the local Authorities in the city streets, there are no governmental sterilization or vaccination campaigns, no public shelters or refuges, there is clear and present danger due to the ongoing civil war with random bullet wounds being a frequent problem. Disease is aggravated by absence of public rubbish collection and rabies is affecting the local people and children
Eliminate rabies, control the stray population, reduce disease, provide emergency veterinary treatment and shelter animals from danger
Provide capacity building support so that OWAP can take the lead in humanely managing Yemen's local stray animal population. Humanely reduce the numbers of unwanted stray animals through our CNVR (Catch Neuter Vaccinate Return) program, eliminate rabies, improve public attitudes towards stray animals, reduce pet abandonment and improve adoption rates.
