Supporters of DoveLewis' Stray Animal and Wildlife Program help the highly-skilled clinical team at DoveLewis make a difference for the injured or ill stray animals and small wildlife who are brought to DoveLewis 'round the clock every day of the year. 1,281 injured or ill stray animals and small wildlife have been cared for at DoveLewis from January 1st - October 31st of this year. From all of us at DoveLewis and from the injuired or ill animals who benefit from this program, we thank you so very much for your support!

This friendly 3-year old stray gray cat with fleas and skin lesions was found by a good Samaritn in Wilsonville, Oregon and brought to DoveLewis in August

This sweet 4-year-old Border Collie stray was found near I-84 in Dufur, Oregon and brought to DoveLewis

This 2-year-old stray Mini Lop rabbit was found in Tigard, Oregon, and brought to DoveLewis the Friday before Labor Day holiday weekend. Over the 3-day Labor Day holiday weekend, 261 injured or ill animals were seen at DoveLewis: 163 dogs, 78 cats, 5 rabbits, 4 birds, 4 pet rats, 1 Reptile Dragon, 1 hamster and 1 Pygmy Goat.

Priya, a 3-year-old stray Dachshund mix escaped from her yard, was found by the side of the road and brought to DoveLewis. Thankfully, we were able to reunite her with her family.

Mow Mow, who is an 18 year-old cat, accidentally got out of the house when her family was out of town. Thankfully, she was found and brought to DoveLewis. We were thrilled when we were able to reunite Mow Mow with her with her family.

We reunited this handsome, very friendly stray Pit Bull with his family in August.
In every effort to reunite the injured or ill strays who make their way to DoveLewis with their families, we scan all strays for microchips, and we post photos of these stray animals on the lost and found page of our website. To best ensure that your pet's family would be contacted in case of emergency or if your pet should stray from home and get lost, please check to be sure that your pet's microchip is registered with the microcip database as that registration is not done automatically when animals are microchipped. Also, please check to be sure that the contact information in the microchip registration database is current. Sadly, at least half the injured or ill strays who come to DoveLewis have a microchip, but either the registration process has not been completed, or the contact information in the registration database is not current. Your beloved pet will thank you for registering his or her microchip, and making sure that the microchop contact information is current should they get lost and/or encounter an emergency.
Every donation to this program helps give these injured or ill stray animals a second chance they otherwise would not have had, and we thank you very much for your support of DoveLewis' Stray Animal and Wildlife Program.
