Good Samaritans

By Alan Mahan | Development Analyst

As 2011 is well underway, we have some amazing DoveLewis patient numbers to share with you. In 2010, we saw a total of 17,094 animals at DoveLewis which included 10,685 dogs, 5,619 cats and 790 other animals such as rabbits, squirrels, pet rats, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs, reptiles, mice, gerbils and chinchillas, and pet chickens. Last year, we also had an injured beaver and an injured blue heron who spent a night at DoveLewis. We are also very proud that our work has been recognized by the Portland Business Journal as one of Oregon’s most admired non-profits five years in a row (2006-2010)! Please review our annual report (enclosed) for more detail about our hospital and community programs.

Again, thanks so much for your wonderful ongoing support that makes such a difference to the animals being seen and treated here. We hope you have a wonderful 2011. If you have not had the opportunity to take a tour, we would love to take you behind the scenes and host a tour for you at your convenience.
