Stratford Landing Elementary School is a special school located in Alexandria, VA. This school serves over 900 students. Like many schools it is overcrowded and underfunded. The purpose of this project is to provide funds to the school administration to supplement budget for technology, school programs, and to help fund the Care & Share program that provides school supplies, holiday food and gifts, and other essential needs to our children from economically challenged families.
Stratford Landing Elementary School has a diverse population of students. The school serves over 900 little hearts and minds. Due to budget cuts in the County and State, the school has less funding for more students. As a result, the school has less money for technology and special programs that are needed to support a school of this size.
By fundraising through GlobalGiving, our school will be able to receive funds that will provide the following: - Much needed technology to grow 21st century learners - Books for expanding classrooms to feed children's minds - Holiday meals and gifts as well as school supplies for those students who come from economically disadvantaged families - Special programs such as field trips and toolkits to help children become writers
By supporting this school, over 900 children will touched. By having access to technology, books, and programs such as how to become a writer; these children will have a lifetime of love for education and learning.
