Stop Ebola Spread in Eastern Congo

Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo remains highly vulnerable to Ebola outbreaks, particularly in communities affected by conflict, displacement, overcrowding, and limited access to essential health and sanitation services. Our $450,000 Ebola prevention and preparedness project was created to help protect families, schools, churches, health facilities, and other public spaces from the risk of disease transmission. The project will focus on hygiene promotion, protective equipment for health workers, isolation capacity, community awareness, and support for Ebola survivors.

At this stage, the project is in its preparation and resource-mobilization phase. No project funds have yet been raised, and implementation activities have not yet begun. Our team is currently identifying qualified trainers and potential learners who will participate in the planned prevention and awareness activities. We are also preparing the operational arrangements needed to begin implementation responsibly and reach communities most at risk. Once resources are secured, the project will provide hygiene kits to selected schools, churches, health facilities, and public spaces; strengthen protection for frontline health workers; support isolation capacity in high-risk areas; rehabilitate an Ebola Treatment Center; provide essential food support to survivors; and work with local radio stations, journalists, and faith leaders to share clear, trusted information about Ebola prevention.

The road ahead is urgent, but we believe this project can make a meaningful difference.
