Journey to Destiny Ministries is on a mission to alleviate the abuse of young girls and women all over the world. We currently have a Center in the Dominican Republic that rescues girls 7-15 from human trafficking and one in Kenya E. Africa offering a vocational training program to girls that have been rescued from forced child marriages.
We run a Safehouse for girls that have been forced into child prostitution and human trafficking sadly often times by their own family members. The girls we service are as young as seven years old. The girls that we service in Kenya E. Africa live in a very rural village that practice child marriages. Therefore, girls can be married as early as 9 years old to a husband as old as 50. Then once they get pregnant, they are forced to retire from their formal schooling.
In the Dominican Republic JTDM provides a safe and nurturing home, extensive counselling, educational assistance, medical care and a comprehensive life skill training program. In Kenya JTDM offers a Vocational Training program with Nationally Certified Instructors that prepares each student to take the Kenyan National Vocational Exam. The Center also offers free childcare for each student with licensed Daycare Workers.
The project in Dominican will house, educate and provide life skills that prepare up to 100 girls for successful society re-entry. The program in Kenya will provide 50 girls with vocational skills that will allow them to have professional careers and empower them to take care of themselves and their children.
