STEM THROUGH ART,DANCE, AND THEATER-SUMMER CAMP II

By V A VIDYA | MANAGING TRUSTEE, FOUNDER AND TREASURER

A warm greeting from AJTCMC team!

FOLLOW UP OF THE SUMMER CAMP ACTIVITIES:

We have been continuing and repeating  the art and science class modules to different groups of learners.   Allwin Mebsraj continues to be a very popular science lecturer, covering many aspects of environment, plants, micro-organizms and human body.   It has been a great learning experience.

During the week and during the week ends:  There are  special curriculum to learn science, current affairs and language, and these are  structured as independent modules to be covered in 6 hours - over three days.   These STEM Art classes have become very popular among college students in the I and II year of undergraduate and postgraduate programs

Participants: The participants are in the age group of 19-24 from the local  colleges

Final Budget: what we have spent:

Fixed costs :

Lecture Fee and Teacher honoraria :198  USD

Camp managers'  and temporary hires (4 people)remuneration : 414 USD  @( INR 350) 5 USD per day per head

Variable costs:

Volunteer Travel stipend: 90  USD by city bus and share autos

Stationery and art supplies : 315 USD

Food and refreshments :   680 USD

Administrative Travel expenses and travel stipend : 71 USD

photo and video Documentation 168  USD

For music recordings : 117 USD

space rental, Water, electricty and utilities  : 500 USD

What we have received for the project: 1235 USD

Total expenses :2553 USD

Deficit in peer educator's stipend, and scholarship : 1318 USD

This item in tbe budget will be carried forward to the next project.   Since the same volunteers continue with us, until they complete  their school education or undergraduate degrees.

Impact :  The children enjoyed heartily and totally.   The impact begins there.   There was a lot of simulated learning activities - kinesthetic to cognitive... The students could perform without fear, inhibition, or mental blocks about their sociocultural background.   Total freedom, security and comfort was offered by the space, and the trainers and this peer to peer learning-teaching methodology.    During the last 5 days of the summer camp, some of the of the parents brought their younger children and requested to admit their wards.    The final three day's participation ran into 29-33.   Since it was the Ramzan time,  some of the participants could come on and off.   Nonetheless the participation and immersion made us all - the organizers very proud.

De activating the project and closing the account:

After this report is sent, the project will be deactivated.   The deficit amount for volunteer stipend and scholarship  will be covered by our new project and its budget for volunteer stipend.

and Thank you all for supporting us, and reading this report
