Impact Youth Foundation is building a three classroom and a STEM Lab in the village of Ayenya, providing free and quality education for junior high school students at the Ayenya District Assembly Basic School.
Ayenya District Assembly Basic School is currently struggling with infrastructure to provide its junior high school students with a safe and quality environment to learn. The school building which was originally built with red clay and straw roofing has not been properly maintained for over a decade and now has become a danger zone for students and teachers who use the space on a daily basis. This project will affect the learning and teaching outcomes of the entire school and community.
Impact Youth is providing a sustainable building method of using clay bricks with its natural insulation properties contributing significantly to the life cycle of the building. The durability of clay bricks will also reduce the short term and long term expenses by eliminating the need to use mortar or paint The new building will also foster the use of technology in teaching and learning.
The project will directly impact the quality of teaching and learning for high school students and help introduce STEM-based teaching and learning across the entire district education system within the region.
