FIRST is simply the best program my kids have been part of. Truly awesome and life-changing program.”  - review from a parent

We are off to another exciting season, and we first and formost want to thank you, our supporters and donors who make these programs possible for the children of DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

FIRST Chesapeake continues to engage students with direct hands on programs using robotics as the "vehicle" to develop the technical and non-technical life skills to be successful in future academic and career efforts.  FIRST Chesapeake has been scheduling venues and dates for more than 20 workshops and competitions in 2018-19, and working with organizations that provide off-season scrimmages and matches.  Our event schedule includes:

This year’s space theme to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing is energizing and inspiring our teams.  Our FIRST Tech Challenge Kickoff and Workshops Sponsored by ECPI University was held in September at 2 campus locations, each filled to capacity. Sessions were available online as well to teams who were unable to attend in person.

As always, volunteers are the key to our success. We are always glad to welcome new volunteers- whether your skills are technical or not, all are needed, and we would love for you to join us.  A qualifying tournament in the FIRST Robotics Competition or the FIRST Tech Challenge can require up to 100 volunteers each day. The Championships need more than 120 volunteers, both technical and non-technical, per day. https://www.firstchesapeake.org/volunteer

FIRST Chesapeake appreciates the support of individuals and corporations who help us continue to do what we do best - build a strong and engaged community of future technology leaders in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
