During the 2nd Quarter of 2010 (April to June), the following activities were delivered to Star Program participants:
-Dozens of one on one individual mentoring sessions with program participants -26 after school small group tutorial lessons in the subjects of mathematics, language skills and English -7 sea based sports activity sessions delivered in the Ashdod Marina by the Ziv Neurim Organization -3 science & art workshops delivered at the Rehovot Campus of the Hebrew University -2 parenting workshops (delivered a senior social worker) held for the parents of program participants -2 horizon expanding one day field trips that included visits to historical sites in Jerusalem and the Science Museum in Jerusalem -Light meals were provided throughout most of these activities. -Several one on one tutoring sessions delivered by volunteers in subjects like mathematics for individual participants with specific needs.
We are also very proud to announce the launch of two new Star Program groups composed of Middle School Students from the cities Tel Aviv-Jaffa and Ness Tziona. These activities will officially begin with the new 2010-2011 school year commencing in September and this will bring us to three Star Program groups running in parallel (two in Ness Tziona and one in Tel Aviv-Jaffa) with dozens of students. These activities are fully coordinated with the Educational Department at each of the municipalities.
