Stand with Us will help make the UK a safer place for women and girls by funding grassroots women-led charities working to address the impact of male violence against women and girls.
Harassment, intimidation and violence happen every day to women and girls all over the UK. The tragic murders of Sarah Everard, Sabina Nessa, Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman are not isolated cases. Data from Femicide Census indicates that 1 woman dies at the hands of a man every 3 days. Over the past year, demand for services to address the impact of violence against women and girls (VAWG) has soared. Yet there is an acute lack of funding for organisations delivering life-saving work.
Grants will resource and build capacity within the frontline organisations addressing Violence Against Women and Girls in the UK, improving the support available to the 85,000 victims each year. Grants will be given to organisations led by and for the women and girls they exist to support. The funding programme will be influenced by an advisory group and decision making panel comprising experts from organisations across the four nations of the UK.
As a result of your funding, women's and girls' organisations in the UK will become stronger and more effective; better meet the needs of the women and girls they work with; influence wider change for women and girls; contribute to the empowerment of women and girls, improving their leadership and representation, safety, health and wellbeing and economic justice; have a positive social, political and economic impact on the UK.
