The Resilient Housing Program (RHI) has completed 12 homes with 2 more homes just waiting for our local power authority to turn the lights back on. Our construction crews are running 7 days a week in order to get the most vulnerable members of our community (seniors, single family parents, economically vulnerable) in a safe and dry home before the next hurricane season begins next month.
RHI by the numbers:
5 Disaster Case Workers
6 Construction Crews working on structural damage and full rebuilds
4 Volunteer crews working on interior work and painting
12 homes completed
2 homes awaiting power
15 homes currently under constructions
7 homes in the permitting process
8 homes under assessment and pre-planning
53 homes that are in line for assistance
At the current rate of funding 53 families, the majority of which are seniors, may fall through the cracks between federal and private assistance programs. Together we can make these houses a home again.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
