Today, the challenges for children and adults facing cancer in Sri Lanka continue amid continued economic turmoil and fuel scarcity. For many, travel over long distance for treatment such as chemotherapy or even to obtain pain relief medication remains very difficult. Hospitals and clinics continue to face shortages of medication and supplies.
Through the generosity of GlobalGiving donors our partner organizations – CANE Hospice, Teaching Hospital Jaffna and the Patient Welfare Society Hospital Thelippalai – have managed to obtain small supplies of basic medications and for both children and adults. These essential medications mean patients can receive pain relief and palliative care.
Through your generous donations, those children and adults who can reach care have access to needed pain medication. You are helping ease the suffering of those in need of such essential care.
