The past quarter has been one of tremendous growth, engagement, and achievement for the Mann Deshi Champions. Through a series of community meetings, skill-building workshops, and school outreach programs, we continued to strengthen our mission of empowering rural youth through sports and life skills. The months of July to September witnessed inspiring success stories, from district-level victories to national qualifications, reflecting the dedication of our young athletes, coaches, and the unwavering support of parents and mentors.
July Highlights
Community Engagement: Two parent meetings were conducted to raise awareness on sports, nutrition, and consistent training. Increased participation from these areas is anticipated. Local government school students also enjoyed educational visits to the planetarium, sparking curiosity and learning.
Expert Collaboration: Renowned swimming coach (Level 2 Certified, 15+ years of experience) visited our swimming facility. His guidance on breathing techniques, stamina building, and pool management provided invaluable insights for both coaches and athletes.
Cultural Workshop: To celebrate Maharashtrian Bendur, children created clay bull idols, learning teamwork, creativity, and respect for agricultural traditions, reinforcing values of humility and community spirit.
Success Story: At the district-level Subroto Cup trials, Abhinav, a rising football talent from Mann Deshi, was crowned Best Striker (U-10), a first for the region. Football was only introduced at Mann Deshi less than a year ago, making this achievement especially inspiring.
August Highlights
Skill Development Workshop: A storytelling workshop led by a profressor equipped participants with public speaking, confidence-building, and expression skills, vital for athletes’ holistic growth on and off the field.
Success Story: At the 37th Junior Athletics Championship in Ratnagiri, Arya won the Gold Medal, earning her a place at the upcoming Nationals. Her success reflects determination, discipline, and the power of community support.
September Highlights
Health & Hygiene Initiative: An engaging session was conducted on personal hygiene, including handwashing, dental care, and cleanliness. Interactive games and role plays encouraged active learning among participants.
School Outreach & Training: Regular training sessions were held across multiple Z.P. schools covering athletics, kho-kho, kabaddi, football, boxing, and wrestling. These sessions boosted physical fitness, confidence, and teamwork among rural youth.
Parent Engagement: A meeting for parents of swimming students emphasized the importance of balanced nutrition and sports in holistic child development.
Success Story: At the School Wrestling Competition, Mann Deshi athletes delivered an outstanding performance, 5 girls won the gold medal and 1 won a silver medal. Their dedication and excellence continue to inspire peers across the district.
