Teachers Day Celebration
On the 5th of September, Mann Deshi Champions organized a heartwarming event to celebrate Teachers' Day and commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The event was a beautiful tribute to the invaluable contribution of teachers in shaping the lives of students. It was an opportunity for the students to come together and express their gratitude for the dedication and hard work of our Champions coaches.
At Mann Deshi, we are dedicated to nurturing well-rounded students. In addition to sports, we encourage our students to explore diverse skills. During the annual Ganesh festival, we engage their curiosity by organizing activities such as crafting mud idols. This year, the children participated in a lively Ganesha idol- making competition, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm. The result was a stunning array of innovatively crafted Ganesha idols, a true testament to their talent and dedication.
Along with daily activity of sports we take once in a week workshops, this time the workshop was on - Personal Hygiene
Personal hygiene is crucial, particularly for adolescent girls. A workshop was held to highlight the importance of taking care of the body before, during, and after engaging in sports activities. Our coaches answered the girls' questions to dispel any misconceptions.
At Mann Deshi Champions, we've launched an innovative approach to gender sensitization through sports. Over the last three months, our coaches have been conducting afternoon sessions in the government schools, focusing on co-ed Kabaddi and Kho-Kho. This initiative encourages:
- Boys and girls to interact and build friendships
- Breaking gender stereotypes through inclusive sports
- Promoting mutual understanding and respect
Our holistic approach to gender sensitization incorporates diverse methods, including:
- Interactive sports activities
- Educational workshops
- Empowerment programs
By fostering a culture of equality and inclusivity, we aim to create a positive impact on the next generation.
Success story Rohini the wrestler.
Rohini has been one of the older and consistent wrestlers at Mann Deshi.
Recently, she was selected for the zonal competitions in the 68 kg category for under 20 age categories. She is currently in the first year of her graduation. When she first came to Mann Deshi, she was just a
little kid who wanted to play. As she continued to develop her wrestling skills, she participated at various levels with consistent performance. Her journey has not been without challenges; she faced a setback when she lost her father about four years ago. However, she overcame
the grief and focused on her game. Rohini comes from a marginalized nomadic tribal community with a poor financial situation, but she is aware of
her responsibilities and works hard to fulfill her dream. We are hopeful that with her determination and efforts, she will achieve her goals.
