In one of the temporary shelters in Deir al-Balah, Gaza, young Layan lives in a reality far removed from what childhood should be. Overcrowding, scarce resources, and constant uncertainty shape every detail of her daily life. With no stable source of income for her family, even the most basic needs have become a heavy burden.
Providing financial sponsorship to Layan was not just material support—it marked a real turning point. This assistance enabled her family to secure essential needs such as food and clothing, giving Layan a chance to experience days that are a little less harsh.
What we witnessed was not only an improvement in living conditions, but a shift in the family’s overall sense of well-being—a small but meaningful return of reassurance.
