With Support from Global Giving,The Odwar Fund has been able to do a number of things, one important one captured in this report is sponsoring of James Ekur, a physically challenged student who has had a lot of difficulty finding an Organization that can sponsor him.
Ekur is a first born among 10 children and he is the only one in school at the moment. He lost his Mother during child birth so he now lives with his grandmother who is very constrained financially since she is just a peasant farmer and has to support the rest of the children left behind by Ekur's mother.
James Ekur's dream is to become a Lawyer and stand for the rights of the physically challenged in the community,at the moment The Odwar Fund is sponsoring him at Skyland Hig in Lira.
The Odwar Fund through Global Giving has also been able to buy spares for his tricycle since he moves on a wheel chair- We hope that in the future we can be able to buy him a motorised wheel chair. Ekur moves form very far to access school, the school is about 30 Killometers away from his home.
We thank Global Giving and all our donors for making it possible for us to support James Ekur
To fuly support the Education of James Ekur at A'Levels ( High School) which is two years,The Odwar Fund needs $1320 per year to cover tuition, scholastic materials, transport to and from school and medical care and this means that for the two years The Odwar Fund will have to spend $2640 on James Ekur before he can qualify to join University but I am happy that at the moment for the two terms,The Odwar Fund through Global Giving has already paid $880 towardsthese costs and he now only needs $1760 for him to finish High School without any difficulty.
Thanks to Global Giving
