Lebanon continues to experience a prolonged socioeconomic and humanitarian crisis that has significantly reduced families’ ability to afford food, healthcare, education, shelter, and other essential services. According to the United Nations’ Lebanon Response Plan 2026, approximately 2.99 million people in Lebanon require humanitarian assistance, with particularly severe effects on children, female-headed households, displaced people, and families without a reliable source of income. Within this context, the project supported orphans and families who had lost their breadwinner, helping them meet immediate needs while protecting children’s longer-term well being. The intervention contributed directly to the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 1 –No Poverty - SDG 5 – Gender Equality - SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities. These objectives are consistent with the UN Sustainable Development Agenda, which emphasizes ending poverty and hunger and ensuring access to health, well-being, and inclusive quality education. The project supported Lebanese orphans, widows, and families without a breadwinner in Saida, Beirut, and other vulnerable areas. Support was provided through short-term, monthly, and annual sponsorships for orphans and families. The assistance contributed to essential needs such as food, education, healthcare, clothing, and basic household expenses.
