SCOEN in this project envisions an improved quality of life for the children. It has done this through the availability of consistent, caring and diligent SCOEN team. The social service workforce can be broadly defined as a variety of workers-paid and unpaid. These child advocates work at multiple levels of the system and work across different sectors such as Health, Education, and Justice to provide more integrated, comprehensive services. Services include family support and early intervention, child education, child protection to address abuse and neglect, and alternative care for children separated from their family of origin. Their tireless presence and quick response to these children’s needs has created an enormous change in all aspects of the children’s lives.Their health has greatly improved, they have become enlightened, and they now possess a strong sense of autonomy since they’re self-esteem has grown. Importantly, the sponsorship that comes from our kind-hearted and generous sponsors helps us hire workers that aid in reaching the above services to the children.
Your sponsorship helps these children have a sustainable life.
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. It also includes having access to drinking water, healthy foods and beverages, clean and safe environment, appropriate clothes, healthcare, mental stimulation, access to the outdoors, and loving relationships.
Education is vital to breaking the cycle of poverty but school in Uganda is not free. As a Child Sponsor, you will make a huge difference in the life of vulnerable child by giving them the gift of education.
The cost for sponsoring a child is £25 a month. This is equivalent to £100 per term and there are 3 school terms in per year. This cost covers not only the school fees but also other necessities that the child requires in order to attend school. This includes shoes, uniform, school books, pencils, medical care, school meals and anything else they may need to fully participate in their education. We allocate children to sponsors depending on the needs and family situation of the child, starting with the neediest child first.
By helping a child to go to school, you are enabling them to break the cycle of poverty and giving them hope for a bright future. If you would like to help make a difference in a child’s life by giving them the gift of education, then we would love you to become a Child Sponsor with us.
