Dear Project Supporters,
Your generous support is continuing to help provide microfinance loans, which helps small businesses like Adama's petty trading business. The goal of microfinance loans is to provide parents/guardians with the ability to support their families.
Adama, her husband, and her granddaughter, Mabinty live in Freetown. Adama uses her microfinance loan to do petty trading to make money to support her granddaughter, Mabinty, who lives with her. Since Adama received her Develop Africa Sierra Leone interest-free microfinance loan, she has been able to start and maintain her small business.
Your support is helping individuals like Adama become self-sufficient and provide a better life for their families. Our recurring donors truly make a lasting difference. If you haven't had the chance to sign up for a recurring donation yet, we encourage you to consider starting a monthly recurring donation here. Even a few dollars a month will go a long way to give individuals a hand up in their businesses.
Please also share this with your contacts and invite them to consider supporting this ongoing project. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.
With great appreciation,

Dear Project Supporters,
Your generous support is continuing to provide microfinance loans even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your support is helping mothers set up small businesses that will empower them to take care of the basic needs of their children.
Abu, Develop Africa Sierra Leone Coordinator, visited one of the microfinance beneficiaries, Mariatu, at her business. She sells fast food and candies at a community school in Rural Freetown. During his visit, she was very grateful to Develop Africa and all donors for the microfinance loan that is helping her care for her family.
Abu recorded a video during his visit. In the video he said-
Hello everyone. Supporting the microfinance project for our beneficiaries is something that is very, very good. Today we came all the way down to the Devil Hole community and one of our beneficiaries here of the microfinance project has done an amazing job. As you can see this is what she is selling, it tastes good, and I can tell you this goes a long way. Kids come here to buy, she can take care of her family and life goes round because of your support, thank you.
Mariatu said-
I want to thank Develop Africa and all donors for the microfinance support. The microfinance loan I received helped me to start a small business in return I can take care of my family. I appreciate you all for your support.

Dear Project Supporters,
Your generous support is continuing to provide microfinance loans even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your support is helping small businesses, like Olivette's, during these challenging times.
Olivette is a single parent, her husband left her with four boys years back and since then she has been struggling to meet the needs of her kids. Olivette owns a small shop in her community where she sells a variety of stocks like; provision, sachet water, school supplies, and kitchen utensils. She received a microfinance loan in early October and on October 21, 2020, Olivette was visited at her business place, to get an update on how supportive the microfinance loan has been to her family.
According to Olivette, she is very grateful for having been provided with the interest-free microfinance loan and says in this video-
Good afternoon my name is Olivette and I am one of the people that benefited from the microfinance sponsorship. I have two kids with Develop Africa; Frederick and Timothy; they are both students. I am very grateful for having been provided with this microfinance loan. It came in at the nick of time when I needed help for the business that I run. Basically, with the provision of the microfinance loan and the business I do, I am able to provide lunch, money, transportation, and it also ensures that we have our daily meals. It has been a blessing and I am ever so grateful. Because of the microfinance loan, I am able to have money which I would be able to spend around for very important and necessary things in the house. So I am very grateful. I am thankful to all of you for sponsoring us, I received this about two months ago, and as I said it has been a blessing. I am very very grateful and I thank the Lord God almighty for using you to ensure that we have this finance, God bless you.

Your generous support is continuing to provide microfinance loans even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your support is helping small businesses, like Mabinty's, during these challenging times.
Mabinty lives in the Lumley community in Freetown. She is the grandmother to sisters, Lucy and Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Lucy lost their mother three years ago and since then Mabinty has been the one taking care of them. Mabinty used her microfinance loan to make and sell Ogiri. Ogiri is one of the most common seasonings in Sierra Leone, used to flavor local foods. Since she received her Develop Africa Sierra Leone interest-free microfinance loan, she has been able to start and maintain her small business.

Dear Project Supporters,
The Coronavirus AKA COVID-19 continues to disrupt lives and businesses globally. The businesses in Sierra Leone are no exception, but microfinance loans are helping small businesses, like Fatmata's, during these challenging times.
Fatmata lives in the waterloo community, one of the poorer neighborhoods in Freetown. According to Fatmata before she took out the microfinance loan her family's needs were a daily struggle. Her husband's minimum wage was not enough to meet all the needs of the home. The microfinance loan she received helped her to start a business, selling fast food (shawarma) in her community. According to Fatmata, her children can now go to school with smiles on their faces.
Your support is helping individuals like Fatmata become self-sufficient and provide a better life for their families. We encourage you to consider starting a monthly recurring donation here. Even a few dollars a month will go a long way to give individuals a hand up in their businesses. Please also share this with your contacts and invite them to consider supporting this ongoing project.
