This project will help Anaweza fund tuition expenses, purchase school supplies, and pay for housing and food costs for our children in Kenya. We believe that education is the key that unlocks the door to a brighter future for these orphaned and vulnerable children.
There are 3.6 million orphaned and vulnerable children living in Kenya. These kids suffer from broken families, malnutrition, and a lack of economic prospects. Hunger dehydration, and lack of necessary resources are everyday occurrences. We seek to cure this plight through education and community development. We aim to provide stability and a chance at a brighter future for the children in our program.
We feed, house, nurture, and educate the children in our program. Once brought in, we make a commitment to provide for them during the entirety of their education, acting as the bulwark between them and a regression towards poverty. While in our program we also nurture leadership and community building skills so that our children can act as agents of change within Kenyan society.
The Anaweza program will provide our children with the education and skills for self-sufficiency and leadership. These skills will provide the best chance at earning a stable and consistent income and help develop the next generation of leaders and community members.
