Update of safehome

By Priskila Tamang | Project Helper

1.EDUCATION:-

All the girls from this home are regularly attending school for their studies. Everyone passed their annual examinations and has been promoted to the next grade. This year, three girls appeared in the SEE exam. Among them, 6 girls are studying in grades 1–5, 10 girls in grades 6–10, and 1 girl in grades 11 12, totaling 17 girls. Out of these, 16 are studying at Shree Balbodh Secondary School and 1 is studying at Shree Janapriya Secondary School. The organization has conducted on-site monitoring of the schools where the girls are studying. During these visits, discussions were held with teachers, staff, and school administrators to gather accurate information about the girls' academic progress, as well as to discuss educational improvements and overall child development. Feedback and information were collected during these interactions. Overall, the academic progress of the girls has been satisfactory.

2.HEALTH:-

The health condition of the girls living in this Child Protection Home is being regularly monitored. Every two months, their weight and height are measured according to their age by health workers. Additionally, the girls undergo health checkups every month to monitor their blood levels, fever, and other common health conditions, with the results recorded. When necessary, they are taken to the hospital for treatment, ensuring they receive proper medical care and health services. Furthermore, each year the girls undergo regular eye and dental checkups. These health examinations help identify health related issues in a timely manner and assess their overall physical development in relation to their weight and growth. This year, the health condition of all the girls has remained generally good and healthy.

3.Counseling Service:-

Since the children residing in this residential child home come from different environments, family backgrounds, and psychological experiences, it is important to understand their psychosocial condition— whether they are facing any psychosocial problems or not. Based on this need, psychosocial counseling services are being provided. Weekly and, when necessary, additional counseling sessions are conducted, where the children receive guidance, motivational classes, and recreational activities. Through these counseling services, the children are supported to manage stress, problems, and feelings of frustration, helping them maintain good mental health. This has enabled them to become more effective and active in their regular activities.
