Overview
The project aims to support sickle cell disease (SCD) patients in Yobe State through patient care support, blood donation drives, and direct medical support. Our organisation in collaboration with Yobe state specialist Hospitals Damaturu organized local support for donors in an efforts to save lives. We will like to appreciate the contributions of our Donors in supporting this project with the following achievement.
Achievements and Support
Blood Drive Donations: Building on our success, we have collaborated with state specialist Hospitals Damaturu for regular blood donation drives by volunteers to ensure sustainable support for SCD patients requiring transfusions and other medical interventions.
Screened five volunteers donors for hepatitis, HB Genotype, VDRL, HIV and Blood grouping.
Next Steps
Lunch a scheduled blood donation campaigns to National Youth Service corps Camps Partnering with local health authorities and community groups to raise awareness.
Mobilizing additional international/local resources and volunteers to expand the impact.
Conclusion
Despite the lack of direct funding from international Donors, our local efforts demonstrate strong community support and commitment to reduce the morbidity and mortality through life-saving blood donations and medical support.
