Bali Sports Foundation uses the power of sport to change the lives of people living with disabilities in Bali and East Indonesia. With this campaign we can provide swimming programs for 100 children/youth living with disabilities for one year.
People living with disabilities throughout Indonesia are often the forgotten people and are kept hidden from the world because families, rightly or wrongly, often believe they have been punished by the Gods. Disability is often seen as a curse. Swimming is an excellent activity for overall health and well-being, not just physical but also mental and emotional. It is the one thing everyone can learn that can potentially save their life.
Bali Sports Foundation uses the Power of Sport to change lives. We are committed to improving the lives of those living with a disability and opening up opportunities that would otherwise not be available. Through our swimming and water safety program children/youth with all types of disability can learn to enjoy the freedom that water can bring, improve their physical, mental and emotional health but more importantly, improve their confidence and feeling of self-worth.
Bali Sports Foundation has worked with children/youth from disadvantaged families and those living with disabilities since 2009. Our programs have seen athletes develop confidence and skill and travel to international competitions to represent their country. We have created a new breed of Role Models for Indonesia that prove that anything is possible regardless of circumstances. Some that have already participated in our programs are now teaching and coaching others as an inspiration.
