Challenge

According to the World Bank, poverty rates could double from 18% to 31% in Vietnam as a result of COVID-19. The impacts of COVID-19 on people's livelihoods included increased unemployment rates, closure of schools, disruptions to supply chains affecting agriculture, import and export and negative impacts on Vietnam's tourism and hospitality industry. These impacts are likely to be amplified for rural and ethnic minority populations, as 90 per cent of the poor live in rural areas.

Solution

As a sponsor, you empower trainees with employable skills and a dream. KOTO's hospitality training program includes a hospitality certificate from Box Hill Institute in Australia, life skills, English language, computer skills and internship at a 5-star property. By Sponsoring a Trainee/Class, trainees achieve their hospitality dreams. There are 3 sponsorship categories - Individual Trainee (350 USD for 24 months), Class Sponsorship (100 USD for 24 months), Her Turn Class (100 USD for 6 months).

Long-Term Impact

The sponsorship program aims to support over 100 disadvantaged youth on a path toward financial independence and sustainable career opportunities in hospitality. By investing in youth, you are building the future. Additionally, through the Her Turn Class sponsorship program, disadvantaged women from regional areas and ethnic minority groups in Vietnam are empowered by developing and obtaining hospitality and entrepreneurship skills, as well as job placement and employment opportunities.
