In Nigeria, the new year means fresh starts, and at Shining Light Beach School, we felt that excitement!
We started a special friendship with a private school in Lagos. Each student there made a gift bag for one of our children. Imagine how happy our children were! It was like Christmas in March! This was a way for the children with more to share with those who have less.
Our students also learned about plastic trash. They see it every day, so they wanted to do something about it. The whole community helped collect plastic, and the children turned it into art, like vases and pencil holders.
We also fixed our water problem. The water from our borehole was too salty. We bought special clay filters to make it clean. A local company gave each child a water bottle. The kids were so happy! Clean water is a big blessing.
We have more good things planned! We will do health checkups to the children and teachers. We also want to get internet for the school. We need to raise money for a satellite dish because we don't have mobile network or WiFi there.
We are thankful for each donation! Your support changes lives.
