Twahirah Islamic Charity Organisation (TICO) sponsors orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda who cannot afford school fees. We provide education support from primary level to university, including school fees, scholastic materials, and family food packages. Through community assessments and follow-up visits, TICO ensures that every sponsored child gets quality education, acquires soft life skills, and works toward a brighter, self-reliant future.
According to UNICEF (2020), Uganda has over two million orphans about one in seven children. Many lose parents to HIV, accidents, or conflict, leaving them with care givers who on many occassions do not provide to these children. Others have parents who face chronic poverty thus children living without enough food, shelter, or education. Poverty and unemployment force vulnerable children out of school into child labor or early marriage, trapping them in cycles of illiteracy and poverty.
TICO supports orphans and vulnerable children with school fees, scholastic materials, and family food packages. Through community assessments, TICO identifies the most needy and ensures they access quality education, mentorship, and follow-up support, helping them stay in school, gain soft skills, train thier care givers entrepreneurship skill to build their capacity and break the cycle of poverty.
This project will empower orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda to build a future free from illeteracy and poverty. By providing quality education, TICO will equip them with the confidence and skills to become self-sufficient adults. Graduates will be able to support their own families, create new local opportunities, and become the next generation of leaders who uplift their entire community.
